Applications for the 2014 Network for Earthquake Engineering Simulation (NEES) Research Experience for Undergraduates are now open! This is a 10-week summer research program for upper division undergraduate students interested in Civil, Electrical or Computer Engineering. Students will conduct graduate level research offsite at a partner university in the field of Earthquake Engineering. See the attached flyer for a description of research sites and available projects.
The internship pays $5,000 for the summer and NEES will pay for travel to the US National Conference on Earthquake Engineering in Anchorage, Alaska in July. Students will also travel to the Young Researcher’s Symposium at the end of the summer where they will present their work to other students in the program.
Applications are due Sunday, February 16. More information and applications can be found at http://nees.org/education/for-students/reu-program. You may also contact the local NEES outreach coordinator, Kelly Doyle, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
