The Technology Transfer Office is seeking an electrical engineer interested in joining a project working on a high speed portable water boiling solution. The project involves a patented high power-density heating element design developed at UNR which will be utilized to build an electric camp stove similar to the JetBoil. With advancements in battery technologies making this process possible, this project aims to capture a portion of the $646 billion/year outdoor industry and contract with the US military. The electrical engineer would assist with product design and computer simulation.

Coffee Biofuels
Needed: Chemical Engineer

UNR has been granted the patent for a process to produce bio-diesel fuel from coffee ground waste, and the TTO is looking for a chemical engineer with an interest in business to get in on the ground floor. The technology uses transesterification to produce bio-diesel from the oil in spent coffee grounds. This process could add 340 million gallons of bio-diesel to the world’s fuel supply, reduce global warming, and provide a profit of more than $8 million/year.
