Dear CoEN Students, =

The Student Outreach Clinic is a free clinic operated by University of Nevada School of Medicine students under the guidance of licensed physicians. The clinic stands to provide quality healthcare for the uninsured and under-insured population of Northern Nevada while giving students hands-on training.

If you’re an engineering student interested in medical school, please consider applying to volunteer at the SOC. If selected, you will have the chance to shadow medical students, gain experience in a clinical setting and make a difference in the lives of fellow community members. Admission is competitive, as only 10 volunteers are selected each semester. You are encouraged to complete your application with care and submit it on time. The application and additional details about the clinic can be found at Applications are due by September 3rd.

If you have any other questions about the clinic or about the application process, please feel free to contact me at I look forward to hearing from you!

New Undergrad BioMedical Engineering Society forming

Uncategorized No Comments »

A Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) student chapter at UNR will be formed in the coming semester. This professional [primarily undergraduate] student club will be geared toward [and open to] all students regardless of major with an interest in Biomedical Engineering and Bioengineering. Details are sparse at the moment as they will be developed in the coming weeks and notifications will indeed be provided so stay tuned as the ball gets rolling.

The Biomedical field is devoted to developing and using engineering and technology to advance human health and well-being. BMES seeks to promote educational and professional development among those with such career goals.

Feel free to contact me with questions or with interest in this group.
