MSE 465/665: Nuclear power fundamentals course is being offered this semester. It is scheduled to be taught on Tuesdays/Thursdays at 5:30 – 6:45PM.

IF you are curious to know about nuclear energy (did you know that 20% of US electric energy comes from nuclear and more plants are under construction or scheduled to be built) and interested in learning the significance it plays in climate, then this is a course for you.  The course will be taught by World Renowned professor Dr. Nick Tsoulfanidis, who wrote the book on this topic.

It counts as an elective for ME students and most others.

This course provides an introduction to radioactivity and nuclear power. Prerequisite is MATH 181.  Please note that the system erroneously has MSE 232 has a prerequisite and that PREREQ WILL BE WAIVED. Those students needing the waiver please contact Kathleen Coles in LMR 474 – she has presigned forms available.  Alternatively, you can show up tomorrow at the lecture and get the form signed.
