Uncategorized No Comments »

Come and join us on Wednesday, October 12th, 2016 from Noon to 1:30 PM for a FREE LUNCH & LEARN on ANSYS Multiphysics Simulation

ANSYS tools can be used to simulate single physics like Fluid Dynamics or Structural dynamics, but can also be combined to simulate complex Multiphysics processes.

During this Lunch & Learn you will learn about single physics simulations and how multiple physics, as well as their interactions, can be simulated inside a single environment.

ANSYS tools are available to every engineering student at the University of Nevada, Reno

In this workshop, we will discuss:

  • Why, as young engineers, simulation skills are key to boosting your career
  • Free student resources to help with your projects (i.e., free on-demand MOOCs and tutorials)
  • Inspiring simulation examples from students, student teams and innovative companies like SpaceX or HyperloopOne
  • We will showcase: simulations of a complete smart watch, wind turbines, medical applications like an atrioventricular valve, and more!

NDOT Positions available for students graduating in the fall!

Uncategorized No Comments »

NDOT has two positions available for applications right now. One is a Public Service Intern position that potentially could result in full-time employment in late December to early January for interested applicants, and the other position is NDOT’s Rotator Position which puts a graduate in seventeen of NDOT’s districts over the course of a little less than two years. The rotator position is a highly competitive job and gives valuable experience in nearly every subdivision of civil engineering that the Nevada Department of Transportation has to offer. Details can be found in the links below for both positions. Please inform your club and organization members who will be graduating in December of these opportunities.

Peace Corps Seeking Engineering Majors

Uncategorized No Comments »

I work connecting students with all-expenses paid international development positions with the Peace Corps[] after graduation.  I am hosting several events at UNR next week, from Tues. Oct. 11th – Fri. Oct. 14th.  Engineering majors, and related degrees make your students particularly well-qualified for host countries requesting Water & Sanitation Volunteers, or Math Teachers, such as the Mozambique, Tanzania, Panama, and many more.   It’s never too early or too late to learn more, as the application process is lengthy and competitive.   Program openings can be seen at[].
